UP govt to constitute Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation to implement all proposed Metro Rail projects

Uttar Pradesh government has decided to constitute Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) to implement all proposed Metro Rail projects in the state. The decision was taken at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow today. 

Talking to mediapersons, state government Spokesperson and Energy Minister Srikant Sharma said, the proposed metro rail projects in Kanpur and Agra, will be completed under UPMRC. However, he said that the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), set up to pilot metro rail project in Noida and Greater Noida towns, will not be subsumed under UPMRC and will exist as an independent entity.
