Telangana: No. of positive cases for coronavirus gone up to 33

In Telangana, total lockdown is in force while the number of positive cases for coronavirus have gone up to 33. State Health Minister E Rajendra informed that two cases in the state had no travel history but have contact with those tested positive. He stressed the need for taking stringent measures to contain the virus from spreading to the community at this stage. He appealed to people to adhere to the lockdown and observe social distancing to contain spread of Coronavirus. He further said all patients are getting cured and no patient has been put on ventilator. He said action will be taken against those who have returned from foreign countries and defying the home quarantine instructions.

Meanwhile, Telangana state is under complete lockdown with inter state boarders closed and a number of temporary check posts set up to prevent anyone entering into the state from neighbouring states. Only goods carriers are being allowed. State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and DGP Mahender Reddy have warned people to strictly adhere lockdown and follow social distancing. They also hint for reducing the current window period of 6AM to 7PM for purchasing essential commodities if people show negligence in observing instructions. It may be recalled that people came out in large numbers yesterday morning. However, emergency services besides grocery stores, vegetable and fruit shops and gas and fuel stations are open during the window period. Checkposts are also have been set up in Hyderabad and Secunderabad twin cities to prevent people venturing out without any valid reason.
