Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam to be filled up to its maximum level: Gujarat CM

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has said that Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam will be filled up to its maximum level of 138 meters. At present, the water level of Sardar Sarovar Dam is above 132 meters. He said that the dam will be filled up with due care after taking technical opinion.

Mr. Rupani said that Narmada Control Authority- NCA’s permission is not mandatory as the work of Sardar Sarovar Dam is completed. He was talking to media persons after visiting the Statue of Unity site near Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadia in Narmada district last evening. Mr. Rupani also announced that the site of the world’s tallest statue- the statue of Unity will be developed as a tourist center.
