Piyush Goyal holds high-level review meeting with railway officials

Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal held a high-level review meeting with all General Managers and Divisional Railway Managers of Zonal Railways and Production Units through Video Conferencing at Rail Bhawan in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Mr Goyal stressed on increasing earning through more freight loading and Non-Fare Revenue. He also called upon zones and divisions to further improve the punctuality of trains. 

According to an official release, the agenda of the meeting was safety performance, punctuality, capacity enhancement and other various ongoing developmental projects in Railways.

 
Chairman, Railway Board  Vinod Kumar Yadav highlighted that all zones and divisions should complete the preparations with regard to 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi.


Various initiative being taken in this direction including the elimination of single-use plastic, development of trackside nurseries, plantation and cleanliness of stations and trains.
