Looking forward to a productive winter session of Parliament: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he looks forward to a productive winter session of Parliament, where people-centric and development-oriented issues will be discussed.

In a tweet, Mr Modi said, he had a wonderful interaction with leaders and MPs across party lines at the all-party meeting convened by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla yesterday.

Leaders of different political parties assured Lok Sabha Speaker of all cooperation in the smooth functioning of the house. Briefing reporters after the meeting, Mr Birla said, the opposition parties will be allowed to raise any issue in the House after discussion in the Business Advisory Committee.

Union Ministers Prahlad Patel and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, DMK leader TR Balu and TMC leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, LJP's Chirag Paswan, BSP's Danish Ali and AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi among others attended the meeting.  

Meanwhile, Government has convened an all-party meeting in New Delhi this morning. Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu has also convened a meeting of leaders of different political parties in the Upper House today.

The winter session of Parliament will conclude on 13th of the next month.
