IFFI 2019 organises the highest number of Masterclasses, In Conversation sessions

Over 30 Masterclasses and In Conversation sessions have also been organized, the highest number ever. IFFI has lined up some absolutely amazing Masterclasses today. These seek to bring delegates closer to actors, directors and other technical masters working in the film world.

Nuances of Acting, was conducted by Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee. Prosenjit is the son of actor Biswajit Chatterjee. He spoke about his debut as a child actor in Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Chotto Jigyasa in an award-winning performance.

Chatterjee is also known for films like Amar Sanghi and Choker Bali. His film Moner Manush is also being showcased at Iffi 2019. With a career spanning over three decades behind him, Chatterjee said he is glad that the distinction between mainstream and parallel cinema is blurring now. He also spoke of the importance of technology in film.

Some other Masterclass sessions will be held this evening. Music Maestro Ilaiyraaja, Choreographer- director Farah Khan and Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike will host sessions. Meanwhile, Tibetan film Ama Khando will be competing for the  ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal. It is the story of an impoverished woman's quest to be a better mother.  

Konkan film Tiatr: Looking back 125 years, Jalliketu by last year's winner Liso Jose Pellisery will also be screened tonight.  In the Oscar Retrospective,  Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather will be screened later this evening. Joggers park Altinho will be hosting the hilarious classic Padosan. At Miramar beach, F2: Fun and Frustration, the Telugu romance drama will also be screened at 7 p.m.
