Finance Minister Arun Jaitley hits out at Congress; Says party launched false campaign on Rafale Aircraft deal

ANI
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said the Congress is running a false propaganda against the government related to the purchase of Rafale aircraft. In an interview to a news agency, Mr Jaitley said, Congress' claim on the issue of pricing is factually false and Congress President Rahul Gandhi gave seven different prices in different speeches with regard to Rafale deal.  The Finance Minister said, Congress must remember that it cannot fool people all the time.

He said, the deal was a government to government arrangement and the government cannot reveal everything about the deal due to the secrecy clause in the contract between India and France. He also added that the Government is purchasing 36 fully-loaded aircraft from France and there is no private party involved in it. Mr Jaitley said the UPA government delayed the deal by over a decade compromising the national security.
