Fall Armyworm detected in Arunachal

In Arunachal Pradesh, Fall Armyworm, a pest which can cause extensive damage to standing crops within a very short time has been detected. 

A report from the College of Horticulture & Forestry in East Siang District has said that the highly invasive pest has been found in maize in its campus. 

The report says the pest can attack a wide range of crops including rice, sugarcane and vegetables. He said that the pest occurrence is severe and can multiply in geometric proportions within no time.
