In FIH Men's Hockey series finals, Japan defeated Poland 6-2 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar this evening. This was the 100th International match in this stadium.  This was the first cross over match for today. In the second cross over match, South Africa defeated Russia 2-1.

Earlier, in the day, Mexico defeated Uzbekistan 4-3. Mexico now got 7th and Uzbekistan 8th position in the series. Meanwhile, the severe heatwave conditions today forced the organisers to allow extended breaks to players and officials during a classification match.  The world body has advanced the start of Friday's classification by 45 minutes. The FIH informed that Friday's morning match will now commence at 08:00 am instead of 08:45 am.
