Delhi’s air quality recorded in poor category

The national capital's air quality was recorded in the poor category for the second day this morning, while the minimum temperature settled at eight degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.

Relative humidity was recorded at 85 per cent. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's air quality index, AQI stood at 283 at 7.43 A.M. and deteriorated slightly to 286 at 9.40 A.M.


An AQI between 0 to 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', and 201 to 300 is considered 'poor'. An AQI above 500 falls in the 'severe plus' category.

The air quality in the national capital turned poor yesterday, primarily due to slow wind speed.
