PTI
The festival of sacrifice, Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervour and due reverence across the country today. There were no mass congregation prayers in view of Corona virus pandemic.

Most of the worshippers offered Eid Namaz or prayers in local mosques adhering to physical distance while in some states, where lockdown is imposed, people offered prayers at their homes in compliance with guidelines in respect of COVID-19.

The Imams, who led the prayers appealed to the people to celebrate the festival in the sprit of brotherhood while maintaining health protocols.

Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his only son in obedience of God's command.

In Kerala, Eid- ul- Azha was celebrated yesterday.
