Andaman and Nicobar: TV, Doordarshan Kendra will be used to broadcast classes for students

In order to compensate the loss happening to the students in Andaman & Nicobar Islands due to closure of schools during lockdown, the Education Department has now come up with the idea to teach them through television. For this purpose, the local Cable TV operator and Doordarshan Kendra in Port Blair have been contacted and the classes are going to start from today.

A two hour slot in the morning on local Cable TV and one hour slot in the evening on DDK have been allocated. The DDK will broadcast classes of respective subjects like mathematics, economic, science, Business etc. from 20th of April while the local Cable TV has started to broadcast educational content for class 8th and 9th from today itself. The classes broadcasted by DDK is available for students all across the islands. Everyday a different subject will be taught.
