Baloch, Pashtun minority groups urge UN Human Rights Council to censure Islamabad for their oppression
Geneva Pics
The facade of Islamabad as it tries to cover up its atrocities on Pashtuns, Balochs & other tribals has come to the fore once again. As the UNHRC Session gets underway in Geneva, several groups have appealed to the world body to censure Pakistan for its oppression of the minorities.
European Organization for Pakistani Minorities has highlighted how innocents are being killed and justice is denied to them. Several banners and placards have been placed by "Save the Baloch" campaign and " Stop Genocide Pakistan" in Geneva, close to UN Headquarters. These reflect how a genocide is being carried out in Balochistan & Khyber Pakhtunwa region in a systematic manner by Pakistan.
Under the Support Pashtuns, the European umbrella Organization has demanded release of missing persons & puttting an end to atrocities on Pashtuns among others. It has alleged that due to forced abduction and killing, more than 32000 Pashtuns have gone missing over the past 10 years.
Pashtuns are victims in their own land and several innocent people in Khyber Pakhtunwa region have lost their lives. It adds that half of Khyber Pakhtunwa is deprived of education, one out of three child is malnourished and 5 out of 10 pashtuns live in abject poverty.
