PM Modi inaugurates Garvi Gujarat Bhavan in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday inaugurated the Garvi Gujarat Bhavan in New Delhi. The new building situated at Akbar Road in the national capital has been built at a cost of around 131 crore rupees by the Gujarat Government.

The Bhavan is equipped with traditional and modern artefacts and technologies and will serve as a home for Gujaratis in the national capital. It will represent the culture, craft and cuisine of Gujarat. Later addressing a gathering at Vigyan Bhawan, the Prime Minister listed out series of measures taken by the Gujarat Government for the development of the state. 

He said, Gujarat has always attached importance to development and it has moved forward  in this direction in the last five years. He said, Gujarat is doing well in terms of water harvesting and providing piped drinking water. Mr. Modi expressed confidence that every household will get piped drinking water by 2024. 

The Prime Minister also talked about preservation and promotion of culture and tradition of different states. He said, the cultural, social and economic strength of different states of India makes the country stronger and  there is a need to recognize such strength. 

Mr. Modi said, every state Bhawan in the national capital should be the centre to promote culture and tradition of that  state as well as trade and  tourism. On the occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel and others were present.
