Mizoram CM Zoramthanga presents state budget of Rs 10,692.3 cr

In Mizoram, Chief Minister Zoramthanga today presented the state budget for 2019-2020 amounting to 10,692.30 crore in the state Legislative Assembly.

The budget proposals have not imposed any new taxes. Chief Minister Zoramthanga also holds the finance department.

Presenting the state budget, he said that a provision of 750 crore rupees for implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Policy (SEDP) has been proposed. The SEDP is the flagship program of the Mizo National Front (MNF) government.


Mr Zoramthanga also said that 50 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget proposals under SEDP for recruitment of doctors and nurses in the health department to mitigate the shortage of manpower.
