NSD Logo
Trinamool Congress Sitting MP Abhishek Banerjee today sent a defamation notice to Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged derogatory remarks made against him, in a public rally on Wednesday at Diamond Harbour in South 24 parganas district of West Bengal.

According to the notice served by Banerjee's lawyer, Prime Minister Modi has been given 36 hours to apologise or face legal proceedings.

Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, is seeking re-election from Diamond Harbour in the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The state BJP leadership termed the notice as a meaningless move out of fear of defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.
