Women's Cricket: India beat New Zealand by eight wickets in second ODI

In women's cricket, Smriti Mandhana, Mithali Raj and  Jhulan Goswami starred in India’s series-clinching win against New Zealand when they defeated the Kiwis by 8 wickets in the second ODI in  Mount Maungini today. With this win, India leads the 3 match series 2-nil.

Opting to field, India produced an excellent effort to dismiss New Zealand for just 161 runs in 44.2 overs before Smriti Mandhana scoring 90 and skipper Mithali Raj remaining unbeaten with 63, stitched a 151-run unbroken third-wicket stand to guide the team to close the innings with 166 for 2.  Mandhana has now scored the fifties in eight of her previous 10  ODI innings. Earlier, Jhulan Goswami scalped 3 wickets. The third and final ODI will be played at Hamilton's Seddon Park on Friday.
