PM Modi congratulates Belgium on winning the Hockey World Cup 2018

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Belgium on winning the Hockey World Cup 2018. In a tweet, Mr Modi also congratulated the Netherlands for their spirited fight.
He said yesterday's final was a memorable match, with both sides playing excellent hockey. Mr Modi also extended best wishes to both the teams for their endeavours ahead.
Mr Modi said, the Hockey World Cup in Odisha has been a treat for sports lovers and was characterised by iconic matches, exceptional individual performances and wonderful team efforts. He said the tournament has also enhanced the popularity of hockey among the people of India, especially the youth.
