NITI Aayog member, Dr Vinod Kumar Paul expressed the hope that the National Nutrition Mission will soon become a mass movement in the country. He was speaking at a function in New Delhi today after giving away Poshan Maah awards to health workers.

September 2018 was celebrated as Rashtriya Poshan Maah under POSHAN Abhiyaan.

The Nutrition Mission was launched by the Centre in March this year with a targeted approach to reduce under-nutrition, anemia and low birth weight of infants. Pregnant women are also the beneficiaries of the mission.

Dr Paul said, the mission is carrying forward the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hundreds of the awardees from across the nation participated in the event. Women and Child Development Secretary, Rakesh Srivastava was also present.
