PM Modi to inaugurate Sikkim's first airport Pakyong tomorrow

Sikkim is all set to operate its first airport ever. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has reached Gangtok to inaugurate the Pakyong airport tomorrow. 

He was welcomed by Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad , Chief Minister  Pawan Chamling, Union Minister of State,  DONER,  Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu and other dignitaries this evening. 
The Pakyong airport about 30 kilometers from the state capital Gangtok is going to be 100th operational airport in the country. 

Besides bringing Sikkim on the country’s aviation map, this green field airport will also facilitate regional connectivity through the government’s Udan scheme. 

The first commercial flight from Pakyong airport is scheduled to be operated on 4th of next month.
