NSG donates over Rs 1 crore to PM's National Relief Fund for flood-ravaged Kerala

The National Security Guard on Thursday donated over Rs 1 crore to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund in the wake of the recent devastating floods in Kerala.

Director General of NSG Sudeep Lakhtakia presented the donation cheque to Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the latter's office in Delhi. The NSG Head informed the amount was raised through the contribution of NSG personnel who donated one day's salary.

The about 10,000-personnel strong National Security Guard is tasked to undertake counter-terror and counter-hijack operations and is the federal contingency force for such tasks. It was raised in 1984.
