In Japan Open Badminton, India's Kidambi Srikanth crashed out of the men's singles event after losing to Dong Keun Lee of South Korea 19-21, 16-21, 18-21 in the quarterfinals on Friday.

With Srikanth's exit, the Indian shuttlers' campaign at the Japan Open came to a halt. Olympic medallist and Asian Games silver-medallist PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy bowed out of the tournament after losing their singles encounters on Thursday.

The Men's Doubles pair of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy and the Mixed Doubles team of N. Sikki Reddy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra also failed to go past the pre-quarterfinal stage on Thursday.
