J&K: 22nd Youth Parliament competition held at Basohli, Kathua

In Jammu and Kashmir, the 22nd Youth Parliament competition was held at Jawahar Navodya Vidyalya Basohli, Kathua today in which 43 Jawahar Navodayaya Vidyalyas from across all the three regions of the state participated.

Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitender Singh was the chief guest on the occasion who formally inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh said, it is a matter of pride that India today has emerged as the biggest democracy in the world and it is duty of every citizen to preserve the democratic character of the nation.

He added that the noblest feature of democracy is that it has equal opportunities for all and it is the beauty and success of democracy that a man with simple background can also rise to be the Prime Minister of India.
 
The event was organised by Navodaya Vidhlaya Samiti, Chandigarh region.
