Madras HC allows burial of DMK President M.Karunanidhi at Marina Beach

The Madras High Courttoday allowed the burial of DMK President M.Karunanidhi at the Anna Memorial atMarina Beach.The court dismissed all pending petitions challenging burials onthe Marina. The first bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Huluvadi G Rameshand Justice S S Sundar dismissed the petitions, including one by social activistTraffic Ramaswamy, when it resumed hearing this morning.

After a specialsitting that commenced late last night, the court had adjourned the matter at1.15 am. The hearing resumed at   8 am this morning. The DMK hadmoved the court late last night hours after the AIADMK government announced itsinability to allot space on the Marina beach for the burial of Karunanidhiciting pending cases.94-year old Karunanidhi died last evening after aprolonged illness.
