NITI Aayog CEO says there are very huge development challenges in country

NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has said that there are very huge development challenges in the country and it is very important to develop the country's human development index.

He was addressing a session on the development of Aspirational Districts by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) in New Delhi today. Mr Kant said, there is need to fight against stunting and food wastage. 

Mr Kant affirmed that providing nutrition to the population is a challenge and it is a matter of concern that children in the country are malnourished. He called for transforming the districts to take India forward and Public sector can play a pivotal role in developing backward districts. 

On the status of schools, he said there is a need to provide more trained teachers and primary schools can be upgraded to upper primary schools for better education.
