J&K: Army commando killed, another soldier injured in ongoing Kupwara gunfight

In Jammu & Kashmir, an army commando was killed and another soldier suffered injuries in an ongoing gunfight at Kandi forest area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon. The counter-terrorist operation in the forest belt is underway.

Security sources said that a soldier of para unit sustained serious bullet wounds in the gunfight at Sadu Ganga forest area of Kandi belt in the district. Another army man injured in the operation is said to have received injuries whose condition is stated to be stable.
Security sources added that the operation was launched in the area late yesterday afternoon after Army and the group of militants had a stand-off in the area. More details are awaited.
