India is the second highest sender of foreign students in US

India is the second highest sender of foreign students in the US, next only to China. The US consul general Craig Hall said this at a programme in Kolkata yesterday. He said, the United States is the top destination for foreign students worldwide and the number of Indian students in the US has more than doubled in the last 10 years.
Around one lakh eighty six thousands students are currently studying in various institutions and Universities in the United States.
Mr Hall said, this rise in the number of Indian students studying in the United State bring great hope to prosper together. A consulate statement quoted the Open Doors Reports of 2017 to state that Indians comprised approximately 17 percent of the total number of international students and over the past five years there has been a 85 percent increase in the number of Indian students studying in the United States.
