PM Modi says India will not accept terrorism and will give befitting reply to terror exporters
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India will not accept terrorism and will give the befitting reply to those who export terror. Referring to the 2016 surgical strikes conducted across the LoC, Mr Modi said, India believes in peace but will respond strongly to those running terror factories. Prime Minister was speaking at the 'Bharat Ki Baat, Sabke Saath' programme in London last night.
On recent incidents of rapes of minor girls in the country, he expressed grief and called it an evil of not just the individual but also of the society. Terming it as the matter of concern, Mr Modi said, such incidents should not be politicised.
Prime Minister said days of incremental change are over and Indians have become more aspirational under the BJP-led government at the Centre. He said people have more expectations from his government because they know that it can deliver. Mr Modi said, earlier, people had adopted a 'chalta hai' attitude but now they have high expectations from his government.
Prime Minister said his government's focus is on three things - education for students, employment for youth and medicines for the elderly. Responding to a question on Medicare, he said his government is working for the health of every Indian.
Mr Modi said Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme will cover more than 10 crore poor families providing them coverage of up to 5 lakh rupees per family annually. Prime Minister said he is committed to providing electricity to all left out houses to uplift the condition of the poor people. Mr Modi said 10 crore people have benefited from MUDRA scheme.
Mr Modi also lauded the 12th-century Lingayat philosopher Basaveshwara and said he dedicated his life to the people and worked to unite them. Prime Minister said what Basaveshwara did for women empowerment, democracy and social causes is an example for the world.
