Tourism plays an important part in the economy. keeping this in mind, Jammu and Kashmir Government is keen on exploring the tourism potential of the State and bringing more and more areas on the tourist map of the State and the Country. As part of these initiatives, State Government is focusing on the development of Bhaderwah, which is called "Chotta Kashmir" in a big way. Massive tourism development in the area will not only give boost to economy of the area and State but will also help immensely in transforming socio economic condition of the people of the region by creating job opportunities for the unemployed youth.

In this retrospective the Bhaderwah Tourism Cum Cultural Festival in Jammu and Kashmir has become an annual feature depicting the culture of Bhaderwah in particular and erstwhile District Doda in general tourism. This four-day cultural festival, showcasing various tourist destinations in Bhaderwah town, was inaugurated on May 27.
During the festival, the main attractions of the celebration were Indian style Wrestling Competition, Volley Ball Match, Daku Dance, adventure sports, besides, other activities which were organized at Jai Tourist Resort, Bhaderwah.
The festive mood in the district begins with the melting of snow in April and the sprouting of greenery all around. Bhadarwah offers to the tourists a variety of beautiful landscapes, colourful local fairs and unique mosaic culture, extremely soothing and pleasant summer, numerous spots of scenic splendor and snow winter.
Bhadarwah is also famous for temples and shrines. Vasuki Nag is the presiding deity of Bhadarwah. There is a beautiful mosque in the heart of town which is known for its architecture. Bhadarwah has dense alpine forests containing some of the most beautiful scenic spots like Seoj Dhar, Padhri Dhar, Sabar Dhar and Jai.
Some favourite spots
Situated in the lap of Bahdarwah, is the Lake View Resort It is about one kilometer from heart of the city. This is one of the best and beautiful places in Northern India with a view of Kailash, and Asha Pati Glaciers. With the terraced lawns, cascading fountains, flower beds with the panorama of lake in front of them, Bhadarwah is at its best throughout the year .
Presently Tourist Complex comprising of nine bed rooms, two VIP suits, one restaurant and auditorium along with Floral and Herbal Garden is being developed. With tourism infrastructure cropping up in the district, Bhadarwah is all set to become a favourite destination of tourists - local and foreign.
